It never snows but I feel the cold in my heart,
From you, my Warmth, I am apart.

What led me astray?
Or took you away?

Perhaps it was my secrecy,
My eternal fear to show the real Me.

Like a tree I’ll drop my leaves for you to see
No more hiding, no more mystery.

I’m cold and bare, afraid of what you’ll see, and think.
But come my Sunshine, I wait for you to walk in.
My secret exposed, the winter cold awaits to be melted away;
Make me live as Myself instead of dying this way.

Author's Comments

Sorting out some old folders in my external HD I found this, a poem written back in 2003. I was not sure whether to upload it or not, because it is not particularly of merit, but then I decided that I shouldn't judge in that way. Back then it said a lot about how I felt. I'm interested in seeing what people make of it. Besides, it is nice to have it here for posterity.

I think it's beautiful.
Sometimes old words can still be very true words and they can be important life shaping lessons which shouldn't be forgotten.
